Global Health Summit and Update Seminar

Global Health summit gathers together policymakers, health care professionals and NGO representatives to discuss current global and national health issues. Summit is organised annually.

In 2012 the project expanded to a new area when the first Global Health Summitt, titled “Inequalities in Health”, was held in Helsinki, Finland 13.6.2012. The speakers of the summit included sir Michael Marmot (UCL), minister Heidi Hautala (Ministry of Foreign Affairs), prof Eero Lahelma (THL) and Dr Michael Meegan (ICROSS). The summit was preceded by a two-day seminar on topical issues in global health.

The second Global Health Summit - Climate Change and Health, was held at Finlandia Hall, Helsinki on 2nd June, 2014 at 13-17. The summit was followed up by a Global Health Update Seminar – Sustainable Development Goals, Technology and Health, at Tampere Hall, Yliopistonkatu 55, Tampere, 3rd and 4th June, 2014. Events were intended for anyone interested.
