Certificate Courses

Global Health Certificate Courses:

  • are 3-week courses consisting of theoretical training and practical part with site visits
  • are held in Nepal, the Philippines or Tanzania
  • have about 34 participants/course, including medical doctors/dentists/veterinarians or students of these fields, coming from Chile, Finland, Nepal, the Philippines and Tanzania
  • include an exam at the end of theoretical part, written report from the practical part

Global Health Courses 2014 >>

Two Global Health –courses were held in August, 2014: in the Philippines and in Tanzania. The course in the Philippines mainly took place in Manila and it was organized by Community Oriented Medical Unit, University of the Philippines Manila. The Tanzanian course was mostly held in Dar es Salaam and was organized by School of Public Health, Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences.

Both courses had 34 participants: 13 from the organizing country, 12 from Finland and 3 from each of the non-organising partner countries (Tanzania or the Philippines + Chile and Nepal). The courses took four weeks and they included both classroom teaching and field visits.

Global Health Courses 2013 >>

Two Global Health courses were organized in 2013: one took place in Tampere, Finland in 3rd-20th June (with practical part for Finnish participants in 1st-12th July and for participants from other countries from 24th June to 4th July) and one in Kathmandu, Nepal in 5th-30th August. 34 students participated for both of the courses from Finland, Chile, Nepal, the Philippines and Tanzania.
